Planning a destination wedding in the South of France is a wonderful experience. I get to work in some gorgeous venues with great couples and suppliers! The South of France is so varied from one area to the other, it really mixes charm and history. There is so much choice, it’s hard to choose! Here are some of the best French wedding venues I’ve worked at in the Midi-Pyrenees region (South West of France)!
Below are my favourites French Chateaux I've been lucky to work at in my experience as a Destination Wedding Planner for Awardweddings. They all offer the main things most couples will be looking for in a destination wedding in South of France: outdoor ceremony and dinner, breathtaking views over rolling hills and the Pyrenees, charming properties, etc...

Beautiful French Chateau : Chateau de Lartigolle
Located in Gers, this splendid French chateau has been renovated by its three extremely talented English owners. They left their London life to settle in the South of France and run this place. And the result is outstanding. I’ve been working closely with them for a few years and it’s been such a pleasure.

Charming old abbey : Domaine du Beyssac
Obviously on our top list as we got married there! An old abbey with views of the Pyrenees… we wanted a relaxed wedding in a charming property with a lot of character and this is what we, and every couple, has got here!

South France Villas: Domaine Occitania
Picture this: a chateau and an old village in the background, your ceremony under a century old tree, your cocktail around an infinity pool and your dinner and party in a beautiful orangerie! It’s hard to resist... This venue is technically not in Midi-Pyrenees but in Languedoc Roussillon. It's still one of my favorites so I've included it anyway!

Luxurious Chateau in the Pyrenees: Chateau St Michel
This new luxurious chateau just launched in 2018 and I've been lucky enough to get a private tour with their lovely English owners. An impressive Chateau nested just outside a World Heritage UNESCO village, this venue offers various possibilities to have your wedding in their garden or in one of their gorgeous salons.

Family houses
A lot of couples wanting to get married in France have a family home in the area. Although it can be a bit more challenging to plan because all the event facilities aren’t there, it’s definitely worth it if you are looking for a family experience.
